PM Modi was on fire today with his rallies in the south—first in Kerala, then straight to Tamil Nadu. He’s clearly gearing up big time for the 2026 assembly elections, hitting those emotional temple issues to rally support.

In Thiruvananthapuram earlier today, he went after the LDF government over the whole Sabarimala gold theft mess. You know, the reports about gold missing from the temple have people really upset. Modi promised flat out: if BJP comes to power in Kerala, they’ll do a proper investigation, and anyone involved will go to jail.
He called it “Modi’s guarantee” – said it like he means business, stressing how sacred Sabarimala is to so many devotees and how the Left has allegedly damaged its traditions with corruption and neglect.
Then he hopped over to Maduranthakam near Chennai for the Tamil Nadu crowd. There, he slammed the DMK big time, especially on the Karthigai Deepam controversy at Thirupparankundram – that sacred lamp lighting at the Murugan temple hill. There’s been this whole row with court orders allowing it, but claims the government was interfering or playing vote-bank games. Modi said he’d stand with the devotees, protect their rights, and stop the appeasement stuff. He even called DMK the “biggest enemy” of Tamil culture on these matters.
The real headline-grabber though? He dubbed the DMK the “CMC government.” Straight from him: people are calling it that now – CMC for Corruption, Mafia, and Crime. He painted a rough picture – drugs ruining the youth, women feeling unsafe, corruption everywhere, and a government he says is just for one family while ignoring real development and safety. Modi said the countdown to DMK’s exit has started, and Tamil Nadu’s ready for an NDA “double-engine” setup to bring proper governance.

It’s all part of this bigger southern push from Modi – blending faith, temple protection, and tough talk on corruption to try cracking into states where BJP hasn’t had much luck yet. With elections coming, these temple rows are turning into serious vote magnets.
