On October 30, 2025, Noida International Airport at Jewar will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi, opening new opportunities for infrastructure and economic advancement for the state of Uttar Pradesh. Located at Gautam Budd Nagar, this project is nearly done, with 95% of the first phase of construction finished. This is the first step for the advancement of the area’s connectivity and economic development. This first phase will take place over 3,300 acres, and will be important for the building of the region’s economy and growth. 

Development of Noida International Airport

On top of that, Noida International Airport is being developed for the first time for a public-private partnership, with Zürich Airport International AG being the first развития партнёра. For land and construction of the Noida International Airport, the project has spent 12,000 crore rupees. 6,700 acres has been secured, and the rest is in the process of being acquired. Noida International Airport will be 11,750 acres, have 5 runways, and be able to serve 30 crore passengers in a year.

To prepare for the grand launch of the airport by the end of the year, builders are finishing one runway, which is expected to accommodate 12 million passengers and 150 daily flights. A second runway is expected to be constructed to accommodate increasing demand. With this, the airport will serve the demand of the immediate region and expand to serve the rest of the country. 

Connectivity and Growth 

For the country, the airport means better connectivity for the whole of North India and, by extension, the economic development of the region and the state of Uttar Pradesh. Increased international flights to the airport, along with the Yamuna Expressway, will make the region a global gateway. 

Noida International Airport is a modern marvel 

The Jewar airport will create endless possibilities for the state of Uttar Pradesh and the whole of India. 

Improved Accessibility: No Indian airport will be able to expand air travel facilities to North India and reach previously isolated air travel communities and major cities. This will improve the region  drastically and, by extension, the economy of the whole of Uttar Pradesh.

Economic Development: This project will support economic development by creating direct and indirect employment opportunities for thousands of people, including jobs at the airport, and in the hospitality, logistics, and retail sectors. 

Industrial Development: Airport proximity to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region will capture industries and cultivate the development of the aviation, manufacturing, and IT sectors. 

International Hub: Upon completion, the airport will handle 300 million passengers, making it one of the most important international aviation hubs, competing with the busiest international airports. 

Infrastructure Improvement: This project will enhance support infrastructure such as roads, hotels, and commercial buildings, transforming Jewar into an urban center. 

Increase in Tourism: More people will have access to the state’s important cultural and historical attractions, including the Taj Mahal and Varanasi, increasing tourism in the state.

Progress on the Ground

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, visited Jewar to check the progress on the site before the big inauguration. During the visit, he spoke to senior officials, and to Noida International Airport Chief Executive Christoph Schnellmann and Chief Operating Officer Kiran Jain, who told him how the project was going. Along with other local leaders and government officials, Gautam Buddh Nagar in-charge minister Brijesh Singh and District Magistrate Medha Roopam, the Chief Minister gave orders to make sure the project was moving along on schedule. 

The Chief Minister’s Office spoke on the social media site X, and spoke of Yogi Adityanath and the promising completion of the project. They government officials also said that by December of 2025, there should be operations of passenger flights to the airport.

Conclusion 

The Jewar Noida International Airport is an important first step towards making Uttar Pradesh a hub of connectivity, infrastructure, and international reach. Jewar Airport will be an economic opportunity for millions and a showing point for the growth of the Indian airport industry. The infrastructure in Jewar and the region of Uttar Pradesh is simply waiting. As we await the opening on October 30th, 2025 we can proclaim Jewar is ready and so is Uttar Pradesh!
